Serving Bihar with Trust Since 1914
The Bihar State Cooperative Bank Ltd. (BSCB) has a rich legacy spanning more than a century. Established on 16th March 1914 as the Bihar and Orissa Provincial Co-operative Bank under the Cooperative Societies Act II of 1912, the Bank initially operated across Bihar and Orissa.
After the separation of Orissa in 1936–37, the Bank’s operations were confined to Bihar, and in December 1950, it was renamed The Bihar State Cooperative Bank Ltd.
The Bank currently operates through 13 branches and 23 affiliated District Central Cooperative Banks (DCCBs), ensuring wide financial outreach across Bihar.
Lending activities initially focused on agriculture, later expanding into non-agricultural finance in 1990 as per NABARD guidelines.
The Bank has significantly enhanced its operational efficiency through continuous employee training at institutions such as BIRD and by inducting skilled professionals including MBA, MCA, and BCA graduates.
